The design and permitting of Salem Pond Park was done in conjunction with Sage Design of Wilmington, NC. Peak worked with the Sage Design, Wake County Public School System (WCPSS), and the Town of Apex Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department to design, permit, and advocate for funding for the new soccer field, play space, walking trail, and parking expansion of the existing open field. The Town of Apex’s needs for programmable recreation space at the time was critical and agreements between Apex and WCPSS allowed for the new field space to operated adjacent to Salem Middle and Elementary schools. Peak was involved with all aspects of the design from grading and stormwater to utilities and landscaping. Permitting through the Town of Apex, WCPSS, and the State of North Carolina was required for the property.
